The Research Symposium on “New Knowledge Environments in the Digital Humanities” will be held at the HIVE, Curtin University, Tuesday 13 December 2016. This symposium will bring together presentations from Western Australian researchers and invited interstate and international speakers.
The symposium is broadly themed around heritage sciences, including imaging science for cultural heritage.
The symposium will launch on Monday 12 December 2016, 3pm, at the Cisco IoE Innovation Centre, located at Curtin University. This networking event offers the opportunity to connect with the invited speakers as well as researchers and distinguished guests. In conjunction with the opening of the symposium we will launch Prof. Erik Champion's book Critical Gaming: Interactive History and Virtual Heritage (Digital Research in the Arts and Humanities). Drinks and refreshments will be provided throughout this event. The main symposium will be held at the Curtin HIVE on Tuesday 13 December 2016. We have 8 confirmed speakers from WA, interstate and the UK. Morning and afternoon tea is catered for all attendees. Participants are welcome to join the speakers for lunch, however, this will be at their own expense. On Wednesday 14 December 2016 the invited speakers will meet to discuss possible grants and work on collating the proceedings of the conference.
